Usually on your 21st birthday you're the one receiving the gifts, mostly in the form of alcohol, celebrating your new independence in life with your closest friends and family. Then there's Ryshon Jones, who's never been one to shy away from doing the complete polar opposite of what society beg's of you daily. This year he's sharing his gift with you in the form of a new project, Life In esreveR, which has been the Philadelphia emcee's opus over the past few months. Working with artists EQ, Chill Moody, Pate, Shinte, Rickie Jacobs and producers Talen Ted, DJ Semaj, Sango, Thelonious Martin, Rollin Mills, Danny Dee, Geo Sanchez, Mature & Austin Millz, Ryshon's backwards journey all culminates here.

What does it feel like to live Life In Reverse? Backwards is a start, but what's more is the constant beating the world continues to hand you as you struggle to make it through your day. Every now and then you have to give back what your get and then some, though. With that said, Ryshon Jones runs a brutal gang-bang on this thing called life on his new track Everybody's Ho (Oral), produced by long time collaborator Talen Ted. His forthcoming mixtape Life In Reverse is set for release on June 13th.
Watch as Ryshon Jones pays a visit to the Good*Fella Radio show on 90.3 the Core RLC-WVPH FM Piscataway, New Jersey. During the interview they hit on various topics including his Alaskan roots (ha!), Joe Budden hearing his tape The Lower I Fall The Higher I Aim, Complex Magazine naming him being an "emo rapper", quitting his job to go to SXSW and concentrate on music, who else in Philly is poppin' off, his eclectic taste in music, his favorite producers to work with, where he gets the emotion from that he spills in his songs, his latest project "Basqui", building his buzz off the blogs and much much more! Darko will be out this summer
Ryshon Jones releases his new mixtape "Basqui." Crazy thing is, Up until yesterday the mixtape name for this was "Basquiat." The name was inspired by the famed NYC artist. The whole point of naming this project "Basqui" was for us not to understand what Ryshon really meant. This project includes production from Rollin Mills, Talen Ted, Sango, Thelonious Martin & Lee Bannon, and features from Sean Falyon, Young Gliss and Benny Love. Download link below tracklist.

To say Ryshon Jones has grown since the release of his break out mixtape The Lower I Fall, The Higher I Aim dropped would be a major understatement. Fresh off the release of his album Brightest Nights, Darkest Days, the Philadelphia emcee continues to pump out music at an almost incomparable rate. Earlier in the week we received the horror-move-like Late Night With My Best Friend Pt. 2. Today he brings us Happily Unhappy, the follow up to his Weeknd sampled EP, Friday. With Jairo Menendez, Jermaine D. Hunt, Talen Ted, Geo Sanchez, Lando Beats and Lee Bannon on the production, Jones keeps his the same format with no features and the Toronto singers harmonies mixed through each track. He does however show us a side we have never seen before on The Outro After The Outro. We'll just call that the happy part. Enjoy.
Ryshon says about the tape...
This project is a follow up to my EP from September, Friday. The whole purpose is to flip The Weeknd samples on the project as it follows the storyline of the process of getting over a heartbreak. The tape is dark and gloomy with a unexpected happy ending
Talk about a hell of an evening! Ryshon Jones tells a tale of a late night with his best friend that turns into an emotional war full of lies, deceit, jealousy, and rage. Catch the video above, shot and edited by Jermaine D. Hunt & Jairo Menendez, that paints the haunting picture that is Late Night With My Best Friend Pt. 2, so vividly. Trust me when I tell you not to take your eyes off the screen and watch it until the very end. This will live on Ryshon's new mixtape Happily Unhappy, which will be released on February 10th, 2012.
Ryshon says about the video...
This video is something I thought about doing a couple days ago. I kind of wanted to catch people off guard and created something...something pretty "wtf-ish." I'm excited to reveal this to the world...my new mixtape Happily Unhappy drops this Friday, February 10th.
Special thank you to the Directers and Editors of the video Jermaine D. Hunt & Jairo Mendez, as well as Obese of BombOnEm.
