Here is our interview with up and coming Philadelphia artist Ace Porter. In this interview he talks about himself as an artist, Veteran Freshman 3, & more. Check it out!!

Nativ Hype: Who is Ace Porter as an artist/person?

Ace Porter: Ace Porter as an artist and as a person is the same. My music reflects my life experiences and honesty because I feel like that's the best way to connect with the people. By staying true to yourself.

Nativ Hype: When did you first become interested in being a music artist?

Ace Porter: I was 14 years old watching "2 raw for the streets DVD" and I realized it was fun so I started writing raps and when I turned 19 years old I started writing songs.

Nativ Hype: About 2 months ago you were featured as a performer at the TLA in the "Veteran Freshman 3" showcase. What was the experience like for you?

Ace Porter: It was blessing, a dream come true. I never touched a stage to that big of a crowd before and I felt right at home. I had a 20 min set and I made the best out of it.

Nativ Hype: Describe the the Philly hip-hop scene.

Ace Porter: The Hip-Hop music scene in Philly has changed for the better, I love it because people are don't afraid to be them selves any more. It was a time when artists all wanted to be gangsta now it's a whole new culture of all type of music right here in the city.

Nativ Hype: Are there any musical influences that you have?

Ace Porter: Empire Of The Sun, and Kanye West for being creative. Jay-Z , Diddy, and Rick Ross For their hustle.

Nativ Hype: What artists do you look forward to working with in the future?

Ace Porter: Great question I would work with Raphael Saadiq, Erica Badu, Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky.

Nativ Hype: In terms of your career, where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

Ace Porter: I see my self touring around the world with my album. Having some placements as well. Having my clothing line in some stores starting in the U.S. then over seas. Having some properties which I own.

Check out the video for his track with Philadelphia singer Beano titled 'Love Operator' below. Also be sure to check out more of his music on www.aceporter.com

Pt. 1

PT. 2

After the preliminary snippet of a collaboration between The KickDrums, Lana Del Rey and A$AP Rocky hit the internet a day ago, it was clear that “Ridin’” was going to be huge. Slated to appear on The KickDrums mixtape Follow the Leader which was released yesterday, the song was mysteriously left off which immediately caused people to speculate as to why. MTV recently caught up with the Brooklyn-based production duo to get to the bottom of it. Choice excerpts appear below while the entire interview can be read HERE

Cory of CoryTownes.com had the chance to interview hip hop purists 9th Wonder and Phonte after the Red Bull Music Academy symposium they participated in in Philadelphia a few weeks ago. He talks with them about the newly popularized "indie" hip hop scene that Little Brother had helped to create, advice for new age artists, and their future projects, both individually and together.

Qream ambassador Miss Info sits down with Pharrell to talk about many subjects and inspirations that shape him as a creator. Sensing that Williams put out some kind of signal, given his recent foray into seemingly every pocket of culture, he explains just how his creative process works. From the interview, one can see that boredom doesn’t suit someone like Pharrell very well.

Sitting down with Paul Meara, Dom talks about his upcoming album, DJ Quik, Fashion, and more.

Name:  Darien 'Harper GQ' Presdigous   aka  Regular Person

age: 23

location: Darby, PA then Philadelphia, PA

occupation/talents: Entrepreneur, Graphic Artist, Clothing Designer.  Creating Clothes by hand. Graphic Design, Video Editing, Artistic Directing, Artist Development, Modeling, Drawing, Business and Marketing Planning.

website:  PRSDGS.com    "stating or including www is dead to me!!"

What is the most difficult part of running your own label  i.e. design, production, sales, finance, advertising? Good Question!  Finalizing on decisions for clothing designs for collections & production. I have also encountered difficulty in sales due to a workload that involves each part of the company..

What is the best perk in being a designer? When I wake up in the morning I'm assured to walk on this earth each day with 1 of 1 pieces by Me.  My style is universally accepted, People Always Say 'I' Look Good,, & 'I' believe it is because of my clothing..... Presdigous

Where do you get your design inspiration? Sometimes music, sometimes other lines(rare), sometimes I may want to see an idea in my head so I must create it. But The best is during  post anger episodes my mind goes through quite often) & after sexual releases. Containing so many thoughts that run through my head; things get cluttered. But after a release a creative flow comes.

What one piece of advice would you give to someone wanting to start a career in fashion or arts? Be Sure. Be Smart. Follow The Gut Feeling, While Still Being Smart. Do Not Fear Your Innovative Thoughts, Just Because It Dosen't Seem Normal, or right is fine.  Actually all is fine, except complacency? Who do you compare your work too? Who are you trying to out-beat? Is it what you want to do or what you like? BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF AND HOW YOU'LL FEEL AFTER MAKING OR NOT MAKING A DECISION.
When did you decide to become an artist? I didn't choose to be an artist, it chose me, I decided to take art serious.   A few days ago I had talks with myself and came to a conclusion I am not an artist, YET. I'm extremely Artistic and Creative. But I'm yet to create Great pieces of art to withstand true longevity. Real Art must be conquered still, I feel what I do mostly(graphic art) is a simulation, If I were born in 1720 I wouldn't have programs, So I GOTTA get amazingly better. Which I Will.

what is Prsdgs clothing? whats the future plans and ultimate with it.? It's great casual clothing, very respectable, sensible and universal to mesh with anyone's every setting. The plans are to birth the other clothing company I've created and also  to father other lines. The rest is a secret :D  S A W S E !

who are some designers and artist that you look up to? NONE. i haven't thought of following designers. I am not a fashion guy, I am a man of Style. STYLE. I have something called "Common Knowledge Fashion Sense" which is my personal logic to style and clothing designing.

who are some people you'd like to collab with? That Supreme Dude bcuz he's old and I  see youth. Pharrell, Kanye, Brandon Kash Hudson, Jordan Kent and Jamil Smith.
